Asad Kamran is a modern-day surrealist with a penchant for cinema and works with mediums that are fast-paced, impactful & emotive. He draws inspiration from his ever-evolving life circumstances and the juxtapositions that make up modern-day society. His work is an ode to what it feels like to be young and Pakistani in the city of Karachi. He employs new media alongside classic painting techniques in his work, making it a collage of sorts. He is the founder and creative director of Cinema 73, which is a community cinema and public space in Karachi. Asad is currently a faculty member in the Architecture department at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh and currently works and lives out of Karachi, Pakistan. His interests lie at the intersection of Art, Media, Architecture and Urbanity.
