In the early 1990s, Habib began a self-directed journey that took her to the UK to study and practice art, from antiquity to contemporary.
Today, she approaches drawing as a pivotal tool for learning and gaining awareness. It is a direct way of gathering and synthesising visual information from social, political, historical, cultural, religious or spiritual contexts.
This way, she simultaneously explores the idea of unity and duality, by juxtaposing traditional and sacred practices in painting, with contemporary art and design methodologies. Her art practice allows her the space to engage with the past, to derive meaning and purpose for the present and future.
