ABOUT

In Niilofur’s critical practice, that spans five decades, a common thread has been the need to understand the impact of epistemic damage during colonialism and beyond, on visual expression. She has investigated it through the lens of local concerns and vernaculars that have since emerged. She has just completed an anthology on Meher Afroz that addresses some of the issues of cultural continuity.

Currently she is researching the art history of Karachi.
