Saqlain Zaidi is an Assistant Professor in the Media Science Department at SZABIST, Karachi where he teaches screenwriting, film theory and literature. His courses follow an interdisciplinary approach of seeing film as a complex social product of a culture rather than an outcome of an individual author. They draw liberally from the Greek classics, World literature and World cinemas and History of Ideas, with the aim of challenging students to reflect on contemporary issues of the Pakistani society through an intercultural prism. Zaidi has been advising students of different universities in Pakistan for their final year thesis films, documentaries and design projects.
