ABOUT

The Sindh Provincial Museum was established in 1971. It is situated on the National Highway, near Rani Bagh Qasimabad, Hyderabad. The Sindh Provincial Museum is divided into two sections in its present position; display galleries and an open air section. One of the displays shows an inside view of a Sindhi home, decorated with household objects and life size models representing a family in their normal daily life. The background depicts the old city Thatto.

The Museum was established to collect, preserve, study, and exhibit the records of the cultural history of Sindh. The museum features the history and heritage of Sindh and the Indus Valley Civilization. Items from various ruling periods of Sindh, including Samma, Soomra, Kalhora and Talpur periods can be found at the museum as well as a depiction of the life style of the Sindhi people.
