After graduation, Adeel uz Zafar became involved in creating illustrations for children’s story books. While working on these assignments he got a chance to live in the remote Northern Areas of Pakistan. It was here that he began producing etched images, using a cutter, due to unavailability of the conventional mediums.
He has been interested in working on a large scale. Small toys blown up to monstrous size with the intricately manifested concealing weave of the cloth opened as many connotations regarding furtive and ambiguous identity. He associates his constant dealing with children as his subjects, as the core of his imagery development.
