Meher Afroz is a renowned painter and printmaker of Pakistan. About her practice Afroze says, “Through my work I talk about social values, for which I use I use historic, religious, literature and metaphoric symbols, with references from history and Urdu and Persian literature.”
After she graduating with honors in Fine Arts from Government College of Arts and Crafts, Lucknow India, she migrated to Karachi, Pakistan. Afroze has participated in about 27 international exhibitions and workshops in places like UK, Canada, Iraq, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Hong Kong, USA, and Jordan. She has held more than 25 solo shows in Pakistan and oversees and won various awards including 6th Asian Biennale.
