Mohammed Islam began his training under the guidance of Ustaad Yusaf -Yousuf Bhai in 1987. An ex army employee he was exposed to the art of truck painting and decoration when he visited his uncle in Garden, Karachi. When he left the army due to health complications he decided to take up this art.
Islam has taught a flourishing practice in painting Bedford trucks mostly of Quetta origin. Though he has been part of wall art in The I am Karachi Walls of Peace near the American Embassy and near National Stadium, Islam prefers painting on the Bedford. He is also the tutor of Akhlaq Ahmed and Jawad Fida.
