For Mohammad Ali Bhatti, contemporary painting has always been like composing a symphony. He approaches his canvases with a concept or a theme in mind and without any preconceived design or reference; rather it evolves through layer after layer, intuitively, on canvas. Vibrant colours, spontaneous brush strokes and floating forms have always been a visual challenge. In his contemporary paintings, he also uses a variety of materials and mediums, allowing them to bleed and blend naturally through the chaotic forms and shapes in the interest of the overall mood of the composition.
He is also privileged to have perfected the art of portrait painting and for the last 35 years, he has been painting official and family portraits. He considers portrait painting as one of the major crafts, in which one has to perfect the art of portrait painting in terms of likeness, characteristics of the sitter and the overall portrait painting technique.
