Shahid is a renowned Pakistani Canadian painter and sculptor. He dabbles in writing and is a passionate rights activist and educationist. He is the Principal of the Arts Council Central Institute of Arts and Crafts, Pakistan.
Shahid has exhibited his work around the world, including the UK, USA, Canada, France, Italy, UAE, India, and Pakistan. Famous writer and art critic Dr. Akbar Naqvi has done a critical analysis of his work in his book “Sense and Insanity.” Shahid plays the bridge between various genres of art and prominent writers like Mushtaq Ahmed Yusufi, Anwar Maqsood, Zehra Nigah, Iftikhar Arif, Kishwar Naheed, and Gulzar have praised his extraordinary contribution to the world of art.
Over time, Shahid has practiced and experimented with various schools and styles of painting. He has also done portraits of leaders like Nelson Mandela, Benazir Bhutto, Justin Trudeau, Hazel McCallion, Salman Taseer, Hilary Clinton, Shahbaz Bhatti, Pope Francis and many great writers and poets.
