Zahir Husain founded ‘The Calligraphers Club’ – ‘Baithak e Khushnawisan,’ a community on Facebook of Pakistani calligraphers. He began his training as a calligrapher under the tutelage of Ghulam Murtaza and M. Kashif Khan, and later expanded his practiceto include calligraphic paintings, murals, and ‘katbas’ as well as critique.
Zahir Husain is an active member of the calligraphy community, having served as Secretory and Joint Secretory of the Calligraphers Association of Pakistan (Sindh Chapter). His commitment to the promotion of calligraphy has also led to the establishment of an online calligraphy training platform.
He is the recipient of appreciation award from ‘Mojiza e Fun’ for being a Calligraphy Activist and is also a Calligraphy Critic.
